Today was miserable! Rain, wind, more rain, more wind! Our journey to River Valley was via a National Park and normally a walk...in that weather?! Nah! A few of us decided to stay on the bus! Wearing flip flops and having no coat also influenced my decision!
However, after quite a winding journey we finally arrived at a really nice lodge where we were due to stay for the night. It was really nice and had a spa, sauna, nice lounge area and more importantly the 'Orgy Pit'
The 'Orgy Pit' was our bed for the evening...one large, well bunk bed I guess. It would probably have slept 8 people on the bottom and on top, maybe more if you didn't mind been really close to your neighbour! It amused us and we all crashed in there with our things...
The afternoon had cleared up slightly, the rain had eased off and we all changed and got ready for a walk up the mountain side...via the awesome swing, trolley thing you had to sit on to get across the river...this entertained us more than the walk! Big Kids!
The walk was fun, but the rain started again so we made our way back and decided to hit the hot tub for an hour. It was nice and it looked over the river so we chilled out for a while before going in, getting showered and ready for dinner.
We decided to cook our own dinner, basic and cheap but good old beans on toast always does the trick! Then we chilled out in the bar area and took advantage of the $8 beer pitchers, we stayed there all night, a few people played poker but myself, Claire and Lois decided to just sit and drink beer, snake bites and have a cheeky jager bomb! We ended up pretty hammered, we all somehow managed to persuade Jamie and Chad to quit work and travel with us on the Kiwi bus to Wellington where we was due to celebrate Claire's 21st...
The next morning we was all up and ready to head to Wellington...with our new recruits, Chad and Jamie!
