Day 43. We arrived into the Broome Caravan Park on midday, a lovely shady van park just 5km outside the town centre. Firstly, a drive into town to the information centre, nearby a lovely shopping centre with alleys and shady verandahs, very tastefully constructed using low rise and in the old corrugated iron style with lots of palm trees. Chinatown for afternoon tea, then a long round trip to famous Cable Beach for a drive onto the beach and relax under the shady big tree near Zanders bar and restaurant. The beach is sandy and very wide with not much surf but still plenty of people swimming. Maybe tomorrow. We think our small South Coast beaches are much prettier. Finally, a swim in our local pool on sunset a real delight. Dinner of rissoles cooked on our barbie with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. Drove 215km today, warm 32 degrees. Some big activities are planned for our time in Broome over coming days!
