Day 56. Lazy Sunday, slept in after our big drive yesterday. Down to the Exmouth village shops for a coffee and pastry from the local bakery, so lively with so many people about. Visited the information centre and out to the marina to see some attractive upmarket houses and big boats. The town beach not that impressive being on the tidal Exmouth Gulf side of the Cape. We noticed that many of the trees here have been stripped of their big branches from the cyclones of 2014 and more recently March 2015, but the leaves are now starting to grow back. Bought a new Shimano heavy surf rod as my old one needed updating! Could be some big fish ahead and I don't want any gear failures! Back at the van we rang home to talk to our kids and little Jack and Lachlan - we are really missing them but we are comforted that we will be home in about 6-7 weeks! Lazy afternoon spent reading and sitting about. Dinner tonight home cooked mushroom risotto with a nice chardonnay. Mild 24 degrees today but a little windy.
