Day 213, 2 February 2013, London, United Kingdom. Excellent sleep at the Tune Hotel in Kings Cross. The odd person getting home late, the rumble of the underground beneath us... nothing was interrupting our beauty sleep. We were up bright and early and London turned on excellent weather for two days in a row - sunshine! Only 3 degrees or so but warm by our recent standards. We had a cooked breakfast and wore out the pavements again on our way back to our new best friends at the TKTS booth (Leicester Square). We secured cheap tickets to one of the best musicals in the West End - Jersey Boys (all about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons) - Prince Edward Theatre. We even picked up impulse-buy tickets to an evening performance of a show that's having it's 60th anniversary - Agatha Christies 'The Mousetrap' (St Martins Theatre). Jersey Boys with our friends Heather & Caroline was superb - a very, very, very slick production - neither of us can believe how many brilliant songs Frankie Valli was responsible for. And apparently he's still singing - must find out where. We couldn't believe how crazy the West End is on a Saturday night. Might have had something to do with the 6 Nations Rugby tests on all afternoon, but getting a seat in a pub for a drink prior to The Mousetrap was nigh on impossible. Before we knew it it was 7.30 pm and we were ensconced in the very highest, last row of St Martin's theatre - viewing the longest running play in London. We think the reason it's made it 60 years is they have 4 different endings... and they also ask the audience to keep the secret of the ending when the show finishes. So no "spoilers" from me. Just a cracking who dunnit. Of course after lunch, Jersey Boys, drinks, The Mousetrap, it was 10.30 pm by the time we made it back and had to cope with packing.... Arrgh. Trying to fit 3 massive bags into 2 massive bags, weighing less than 23 kg of course. We got it done - but not sure about weight. We murdered the bag scale at the end of our time in Bulgaria, so flying blind at the moment... they don't feel too heavy. Time and the check-in counter at Gatwick will tell.
