Day 183, 3 January 2012 - The Kilted Rock (that would be the rock formation in the background of the waterfall with the vertical columns of rock). Highly poetic souls the Scots.
The sky showed blue pieces around lunchtime - so we leaped in the car and went for a drive to the north via Uig - just when we thought it couldn't become any more wild - it did. But we were brought back to civilisation when we caught up to a tour bus stopped at the side of the road taking photos of waterfalls and hairy coos. We visited the Kilted Rock (nearly blown off the lookout point!) - a stunning geological formation made all the wilder by the keening of the wind hitting the rocky cliffs. This is quite possibly the most restful place in the world that we have visited thus far. And we have another week - yippee! (PS -tomorrow 4th Jan is the official halfway mark of the trip as we set out from Sydney on 5 July. The world is much bigger than we dreamed.)
