Day 212, 1 February 2013, London, United Kingdom. So incredibly good to be 'home". Looking a bit frayed around the edges but things to do and people to see. Used the great rail link from Luton airport straight into St Pancras station we then waved an ecstatic goodbye to our massive ski bag. We won't see that again until Berlin. Shipping documentation always takes time, so we didn't make it to the Tune Hotel Kings Cross until 11 am, dumped our other massive bag and hot footed it to Leicester Square, and the famous TKTS bureau owned and run by the London Theatre Guild (www.tkts.co.uk/leicester-square/). We met up with our old friend Lorene and bought excellent seats to a matinee of the musical Rock of Ages for half price. Now until Friday, we must admit to having heard of Rock of Ages - and that's about it. As it turns out BRILLIANT musical, huge fun and intensely entertaining for the three of us - since we knew most of the words to the eighties anthems that the show is based around (www.rockofagesmusical.co.uk). Hilarious, fun, great music and the spotlights almost melted our faces. The Garrick Theatre in the West End is small so the audience was an integral part of the show. The theatre finally unloaded a full house at about 6 pm. Eyeballs getting tireder by the second at this point - not enough sleep and up for 18 hours and counting - but this is our last two days in London until who knows when. So we hiked home through Bloomsbury and had the most British of dinners. Fish and Chips. So happy, high from the show, full from the dinner and asleep by 8 pm. Bliss.
