Day 167, 18 December 2012, London (again!) Easy day today - took ourselves on a self-guided Jack the Ripper walking tour of the neighbourhood immediately around our hotel.

We're staying in the East End, just near Liverpool Street Station and had a ball wandering around Spitalfields Market - even had Turkish for lunch (which certainly brought back memories). Took a stroll down Brick Lane - so many migrants and more so than the Indians and their curry houses, there was a huge muslim population and a mosque. Felt very Egyptian all over again. Meandered along White Chapel High Street. (Incidentally one of our favourite TV series - not that we've watched TV for quite a while). We gently shouldered our way through Petticoat Lane Market (busy on a Tuesday - can't imagine the weekend). All told a gentle day. We hunted some roast chicken from the local supermarket and a pasta salad. Easy, inexpensive in-room dining. Tomorrow will be more active - off to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.
