Day 241, 2 March 2013, The Concorde Room, First Class Lounge, London, Heathrow. OH. MY. GOD. Seriously. What a day. Tegel Airport in Berlin needs to be taken out and shot. Flight to London was brilliant once we made it through the multitudes of stumbling blocks and on to the BA plane. First Class Lounge at Terminal 5 (remember - we are doing this on points - and if we can, anyone can. Eventually). We'd just finished lunch in the restaurant (on par with the best restaurants in Sydney). Knocked back a couple of glasses of Bollinger, had a massage chair and scalp massage at Elemis Spa and were looking for a couple of armchairs near a fireplace to relax in prior to entering our private cabana for a couple of hours. (Like a hotel room with a day bed and your own shower, bathroom, telephone with free calls anywhere in the world and a button to summon hot and cold running wait staff if we get peckish.) Then the really cool stuff happened. James walked up to me all casual like and said, try not to look too shocked, but James Bond is sitting on the sofa around the corner. So I put on my "I hang out in First Class lounges all the time and rub shoulders with celebrities" face. And it was one of my favourite Bond's, Pierce Brosnan - of whom I've been a fan since the days of Remington Steele. Aarrgghh!!!! Look cool. Look cool. DO NOT launch self at famous person, sit in lap, beg for autograph and photograph. Fortunately he was whisked off almost immediately. Goodness knows where. Can only presume straight on to a flight. The only place better than here should, in theory have large blonde persons with massive white wings playing harps and floating on clouds. Canada, in 16 odd hours time, you have a hard act to follow!
