Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We left early for a walk from the peninsula that headed to a couple of lookouts and bays. It was quite hilly but nice.
The "Rock & Rev's" show was on so we dropped by to have a look at some old cars and the boys got free cupcakes.
We stopped in at Townsville to have a look around and we were surprised by how big it is. We
wisely left the camper in a side street before driving up to Castle Hill Lookout. There were a lot of people walking, running, cycling up this really long steep hill in the heat (Crazy!). At the top there were incredible 360 degree views and we climbed some stairs to get an even better view.
Late afternoon, we pulled into our free camp at Saunder's Beach just north of Townsville only to find at least 10 other campers here. We weren’t sure we could find anywhere legal to camp but we did manage to find 1 last spot and happily took that. The beach itself is quite nice but as a camp it’s just a carpark where everyone is right next to each other so there is not much privacy.
