Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We went to the city's largest park today which was good for kids of all ages.
We then checked at the underground hospital which was set up but never actually used as a hospital. It was built in 1942 by volunteers using explosives after the town feared they would be attacked next after the Darwin bombings. They also had a museum filled with lots of old medical equipment such as this rotor bed which would enable the patient to flip from back to stomach without moving their spine. This was used from the 1950's - 1980's. Outside the museum is this "tent house" which were once all over Mt Isa.
Back at camp, a simple box kept the kids entertained for the afternoon.
Finished the day off going to the city lookout on sunset.
