After packing up we played some mini golf before going to the splash pool. It was heated which was a nice change seeing the wind was still cold.Zach was a bit scared of the slides until I took him down with me a few times and before we knew it he was addicted to the fastest one and going down backwards on his stomach.






We tried dropping in at the lagoon but found it impossible to park close enough towing the camper. Judging by the amount of people lying out of the water rather than in it, I think the water may have been a little cold. We moved on to Palm Cove which was much more commercialised than I imagined. It was a really windy day, the waters brown and choppy. I can see it would be a nice place but wasn't that spectacular in bad weather.


The road driving up to Mossman is beautiful. Captain Cook Highway is considered second best coastal drive in Australia behind the Great Ocean Road. It is where the mountains and rainforest meet the sea. We stopped at Rex Lookout and had very nice views from here. Hang gliders launch from here and we were close to seeing one take off but they aborted.










We camped at Mossman caravan park and there was the strong sweet scent from the local sugar cane factory.
