Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
After another play on the jumping pillow and the pool, we pack up and headed inland to Eungella. Driving up to Eungella (680m elevation) it was a bit painful at times driving between 20-30km/h. The road was a windy, 12% grade, 4.5km hill.
We are camping at Explorer's Haven which is someone’s property overlooking the Pioneer Valley but has all the facilities including WiFi and a playground. We just had to make sure we chose a site at the back as the one’s at the front of the valley have no protection for little wanders. It’s not a problem though because we still have a top view and only a 50m walk to the front of the valley.
This afternoon we headed to the platypus viewing platforms and after about 45min we still didn’t see any despite the Broken River being one of the "world’s most reliable place to see platypuses in the wild". Although we did see a snake swimming through the river which was pretty cool.
Sitting by the campfire overlooking a valley with a full moon, a coffee and marshmallows writing this blog is a pretty good spot to spend the night.
We headed to another platform across the road and we were lucky enough to see one pop up quite a few times as well as a fairly big turtle.
