It was blowing a gale overnight here at Cape Leveque! Our safari tent was nice and high up, which meant we were also very exposed. With all the tent parts flapping around, Renee & Eamon found it hard to stay asleep, so it was musical beds all around.
We were up early - a combination of the sleeping arrangements, the bright sunshine, and the continuing breeze. A great view to wake up to though so no complaints. We had a nice breakfast again on our balcony, packed up, and made our way to the cafe for some beverages for our journey back to Broome, and were on our way by 8.30am.
About half-way to Broome (100kms), we turned off onto Beagle Bay to visit the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The interior of the church is decorated with shells - mainly mother of pearl - it's quite amazing: the altar, Stations of the Cross, aisle, everywhere there are shells. It's very unique, and the exterior of the church is a beautiful and white.
When we arrived at Broome we went straight to the Palm Grove Caravan Park where we'd left the van. While we were away, the air conditioner was replaced! We have been putting up with very hot days and nights so it was fantastic to finally have some cool air in the van (even if it wasn't cheap). We enjoyed the park by spending time at the pool, riding the bikes, and throwing the footy around, before a quiet bbq dinner.
