We packed up today with the Prelc's on one side and another friendly family on the other side heading back to Perth. All the children played around while the 3 families packed up. For us, our first stop was Manjimup to pick up the all-important car inspection papers that we need to register the car with the RMS in Sydney. Brunch was so good yesterday at the Tiger Cafe that we visited again for takeaway today and got on the road to Walpole by about 11am.
It was a really pleasant drive, through beautiful forests - the road was a bit windy and quite undulating but the Sydney Cricket Test kept us busy, and we arrived at Coalmine Beach Holiday Park around 1.30pm. We quickly unhitched and setup as we had planned to meet the Prelc's at 2pm and the mobile phone reception was patchy. We arrived at the Valley of the Giants - Tree Top Walk and had a picnic lunch in the car park. Once the others arrived, we enjoyed the 600m tree top walk which is elevated about 40m in the air across suspension bridges and platforms, and also the Ancient Empire Walk boardwalk at ground level. It was a great couple of hours. On the way back home, we did the short scenic Knoll Drive where we spotted a couple of kangaroos (one with a joey). The Prelc's came back to our place for drinks and snacks and after they left, we had dinner & quiet night.
