It's incredible to think we are here 2 weeks after leaving Sydney, but it's back out to Uluru this morning with our bikes for a ride around the base - it's about 10km and very easy riding - quite a few walkers asked for a ride! We didn't climb the rock - the indigenous request people not to out of respect for their land. I was surprised at the number of people who still choose to do the climb (similar to the number of people I saw when I climbed it about 15 years ago when it was less frowned upon, and was still called Ayer's Rock).
After our ride, we went straight to the Connellan Airport which is 6km from the campground. Dad has to work for a couple of days in Sydney so off he went into the sky and left us to fend for ourselves for the next 3 nights - needless to say, the kids are a bit concerned that mum doesn't know the 'technical' stuff that Dad does - lucky there are about 200 others caravans here with men I can ask if necessary!
On our way back to the van we tested the pool water and it is freezing, so no swimming yet - instead we dropped into the playground and enjoyed some down time there.
Early night tonight ready for our sunrise tour tomorrow!
