Wow, what a day today! The Henley on Todd Regatta is an annual event consisting of a myriad of boating events held on the Todd River which is a (usually) dry riverbed in the centre of Alice Springs. We found a spot at the Todd St Mall around 10.30am and the street parade went through - it was great and everyone was looking excited for the day's events. Quiet morning with bacon & eggs for brekky, and wandering around the largest caravan park we've seen to date. Mum, Renee & Eamon had a basketball shooting competition (Eamon won!). After lunch we took a drive around the town centre and picked up a few bits and bobs. Early start today - our plan was to drive from Kings Canyon through to Stuart's Well Roadhouse via Erldunda. We left before 10am and were saddened to hear via CB of a bad accident near Yulara (Ayer's Rock Resort) - the road to Uluru was closed, but that didn't affect us as we were due to head east on the Lasseter Highway.
