Let me start by saying that everything is going great. Im moved in in Tijuca and getting more and more English classes all the time. Although planning classes is a little annoying, in general I enjoy my students and I dont have an overload of hours. It beats standing around Bed Bath & Beyond that's for sure! While Im not miserably homesick, I often look forward to being in San Diego again. I feel like I'm enjoying Brazil to the fullest, taking in some of the frustrations. Im appreciating the unique things that I won't have later but I don't feel like I need to grasp on. I don't want the experience to end YET but I'm enjoying it so much because there is an end in sight.
It's the simple things... Emily's choreography that all the girls perform together, Noahs jokes, sharing my stories with Kelly, asking Rhonda to help make my decisions for me (I still do that over skype actually), Tom yelling at me to put my shoes in the cubby, my mom screaming at the TV watching football, Dad annoying Karen when he chews like a cow, Grandma Deanne's themed parties and political show marathons, going dancing in Tijuana with Maggie then tacos at 3am, and salsa dancing on Tuesdays with Melissa! Marzhel's chilaquiles, Rafa's face when I scratch his little belly, Modern Family every Wednesday with Alfredo... The list is endless!
Im just so Grateful for all the people in my life. Even my life here in Brazil (and my life in Costa Rica). I love people like Maria and Paulo who helped me get situated in Brazil and not be alone and now Ricardo and his family who have taken me in. I've made friends that I see every week and laugh until it hurts. My students are all so nice and make work like socializing (which we know is right up my ally).
Im happy to be here and experience new things but also happy when I see pictures of friends and family. I love showing off my pictures to people and showing them home. And I know when I go home I will be just as excited to show pictures and tell stories about my friends and family here in Brazil.
Long story short, I'm pretty darn lucky but even more grateful!

Krissy Damn Danielle where´s your sentimental comment?? Youre my biggest blog fan, dont abandon me now!
Danielle haha sorryyyyyy I was otherwise preoccupied ;-) All I really have to say is, I love your list of what you miss from home. Traveling around is so much fun one can easily forget about all the people at home that miss you, that are looking forward to seeing you again, but looks like although you're on cloud 9, you still remember what's at home waiting for you to get back. And I think thats awesome. :-) You definitely have an awful lot to be thankful for :-)
