Well the trip started off nice and dramatic. Due to a mix up with the times of my flight and the time on my printed boarding pass, I missed my first flight and almost missed my connecting flight. So then I was crying at the counter guy trying to figure it out. The next flight to Costa Rica wouldn't leave until Friday night, arriving Saturday morning, a few hours before I wanted to be on the bus to Panama. So basically the counter guy saved me when he called Denver and asked them to hold the plane for me.
I landed right when the next one was taking off and it was right out of a movie, they sat me up front and had me running off one plane onto the next. They were waiting at the gate, opened the doors for me, and we took off just as I sat down.
So that's how I arrived to Costa Rica :-). It's so strange being back, so familiar, thinking I used to live here. I missed the amazing coffee and open Mercado (market). But it's cool seeing new things, China donated a new stadium in the capital, San Jose. And Spain apparently donated 3 trains which are faster than the bus and better for the environment.
Now I got my ticket for the bus ride to Panama. Only 13 hours... I know it sounds miserable but the ticket was $37, so I'll find a way to survive. The nice Brazilian woman I'm staying with said she'll be there to pick me up. Hopefully this one goes smoother than the last!!

Rhonda Hascall I love your blog idea - it will be fun following your travels each day. Sounds like the trip started out with a challenge - it can only go up from there. Keep posting. I am going to save it as a favorite so the kids can read it each day when they come to the house.
