Here we are again! We have made it back to the motherland.
Today we woke before the sun (just) to prepare for the long day of travel ahead. After a heartfelt goodbye to the sweet pusses (and a scare from Nomi who decided today was a good morning to be a little spewy) the taxi arrived and we headed to the airport.
Our first flight of the day was a quick one to Cairns. In Cairns we had a four or so hour wait until our next flight and at quarter to eleven we boarded our flight to Narita.
The seven hour flight went off without a hitch (although there was a hint of boredom) and it wasn't long until we touched down in Narita. We decided to have a quick snack at the airport before hopping on the train because we hadn't had anything to eat on the plane. We had a snack of takoyaki (octopus balls) and then made our way to the station.
It took 3 trains in total to get to Jimbocho which is going to be our home for the next four nights. We are staying in Sakura Hostel again, although a different one to the ones we have been in before. After checking in, we went for a stroll around the area to find some dinner. It's seems like quite a nice area. Pretty quiet and the streets are very clean, similar to Ginza. We stumbled across a ramen place and quickly decided to head in for some noodley goodness. It was a fairly good ramen, nothing too exciting although the noodles were on the thicker side so it was very filling.
We are both fairly tired from the long day of travel so we are going to have a shower to wash off the day and settle in for an early night. Tomorrow we plan to check out Tokyo Tower, provided the weather is pleasant.
Thanks for having us again Japan!
