This morning we were up fairly early and after showering and bundling up we headed to the train station to make our way to the aquarium. It was pretty chilly today and the icy wind was face numbingly cold.
The aquarium was packed (we think it was a public holiday) and we slowly bustled our way around the exhibits. The cutest was by far the otters who were great swimmers and showed off for the crowd. One guy in particular exclaimed "Kawaii!" (cute) at everything. It was hilarious. There was also a massive whale shark and some huge manta rays which were super impressive.
After the aquarium we stopped for a bento breakfast/lunch and a ride on a giant Ferris wheel where we were able to catch a great view of Osaka.
We headed a few train stops away to Dontonbori which is the major shopping district of Osaka. It was insane and massive! It went on for ages and even though we were there for at least 5 hours we didn't see nearly everything. We found a few good bargains and both ended up with new coats.
We enjoyed some delicious ramen and gyoza (again) for dinner before heading back to the hostel where we spent a few hours hanging out, playing Nintendo and drinking with the other hostelers.
Tomorrow: Christmas and Nara!
