Happiness Is The Road
It was a lovely day for a walk. The sky was blue with fluffy clouds. On the way to the amenities we noticed a cage outside a caravan of a new arrival. This was strange. Upon closer inspection we saw to our amazement that there was a cat in the cage! They had brought their cat on holiday with them! It was a lovely ginger puss but he didn't look happy. He appeared to be most disgruntled and who can blame him when he's being kept a prisoner behind bars. Just as we walked past we heard the kookaburras laughing in the trees. The poor cat, what utter humiliation, they must have been laughing their beaks off at him. Poor puss must have been seething and wanting to get those pesky kookaburras but he was stuck, a laughing stock! After brekky we had a drive into Augusta to get some food from the IGA supermarket. Later on we had some lunch sat outside on our camp chairs which was great as we haven't been able to sit outside for ages. After lunch we went for a walk to the beach. On the way there we were stopped in our tracks. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. Now we've seen some odd things on this trip such as the woman in Broome stood outside her caravan in 35 degrees heat ironing handkerchiefs and the poo raker at Denmark but this took the biscuit! We saw the cat on a lead being taken for a walk by it's owner. It was hilarious for us to watch but probably not very funny for the poor cat. Utter humiliation for the poor puss. The kookaburras were howling with laughter again almost falling out of their tree! Our walk along the beach was really lovely. We scrambled over the rocks and walked the beach for ages before coming back to the caravan park along the coast path. We chilled out for the rest of the day on our outside chairs listening to the kookaburras who were tittering away in the trees.
