Kalbarri National Park today and we went on the 8km walk over the Gorge and around the river across some sand beds and back to the rock formation Natures Window. The walk takes about 3 hrs or more with a really tricky climb on a rock edge overhanging the river, We had to hold some other peoples back packs and help them through.

Hutt River Provence – have you heard of this place? Well it’s not part of Australia and we met the governing Prince today. It was formed in 1971 when Prince Leonard took on the Australian Government over wheat taxes and the farming of his land. We tried to go for a Boogie board today but the seas were very rough. Even the snorkelling beaches waves were too big to surf at with lots of rocky shoreline. We watched a number of boats (some far too small) cross the bar at the entrance to the Murchison River.

We left Geraldton for Kalbarri, a popular tourist spot for Western Australians. We arrived and setup and then realised we were next to friends we had met in Port Dennison from Culburra Beach NSW (yes Allan and Glenys they’re keen fishers). Off to the pool we went,

An early drop off at Geraldton Airport for Dad and Fraser to enjoy a flight over the Houtman Abrolhos islands - home for many crayfishermen and the site of the early Dutch shipwrecks including the famous Batavia. They spent the day sightseeing and snorkelling while Mum and I had a look around Geraldton.
