For quite awhile now we have been heading toward Emerald! Whenever anyone asked us where we were headed it was 'Emerald', well we finally got here! It is a large town, quite nice, and we decided to stay at the Showgrounds. We have a luxury site, power and water!!!! We are spoilt! Toilets are a bit of a walk away but still good to have flushing toilets and clean showers available. We get so excited when we can flick the flickmixer on the tap and have water come out! Doesnt take much to make us happy does it lol. We will probably spend a few days here.

When we arrived in Emerald our first stop was at the visitors information centre and what a welcome we got lol. It was a special day for them as they were having all sorts of things happening to welcome visitors and new residents to the area! We walked up and they all come up to us with sandwiches and tea and coffee and we had a lovely time talking to them all. We felt very special. They were having a BBQ in the park and stalls and popcorn stands etc with a movie in the park to follow in the evening, but it rained and I am not sure if it went ahead. We had a storm come through. It was the first rain we had seen since Tasmania! Didnt last long though, but it was a nice change.

We have toured the town, the botanical gardens and the shopping centres. Allen is bowling tomorrow (Sunday morning) and for $10 they get a game of bowls and lunch provided. They will have a great day.
