Well we are back on the mainland. We travelled on the Spirit of Tasmania on a day trip this time. It was a good crossing and we took time to have a nap and do some reading. Today we travelled from Horsham to Port Melbourne to board the Spirit of Tasmania for our 6 week stay in Tasmania. It was about a 5 hour journey as we stopped at a few placed on the way from Horsham and we arrived about 2:30 pm. The traffic wasn't bad - I suppose because it was Sunday - and we negotiated the Westgate Bridge with no difficulties - thanks to TomTom. When we arrived at Port Melbourne though, it was packed! We met some lovely people along the way, Rex and Betty who live in Horsham. They invited us to come and visit and stay at their place when we get close to Melbourne. Horsham is about 300km from Melbourne. Well we had the best couple of days with them, first night we had a roast lamb dinner followed by pavlova and strawberries and cream, with a hedgehog slice for supper!!
