Well it had to happen I guess.....out in the middle of nowhere, 100km from nearest (tiny) town, flat barren horizon, we did a wheel bearing on the caravan!! We were, however, the luckiest people around as Ray, who has been traveling with us for a couple of months, had bought a spare bearing and it just happened to be the right one for our van!! But wait, theres more, Ray also knew how to replace the bearing!! So sitting in the outback we had a cuppa and took it easy as Ray instructed Al how to replace a wheel bearing. Ray was actually excited as he likesto fiddle and fix things....he said it was a really good day. Al on the other hand was ready to blow a fuse.....he doesnt handle things going wrong very well. A few things went wrong that day and by the end of the day he was going to scream!!! A few beers later he calmed down.

We decided to go to a caravan park this time, first time for 6 months! It felt like luxury, water with a flick of the tap, wow, and electricity too! A couple of days rest was in order. We drove out to a lookout which boasts a 360 degree view, to watch the sunset and have a sausage sizzle. It was lovely.

Taylah, how am I going with my photography?

Winton and Hughenden are dinosaur territory so much of the toursity things in these areas relate to dinos. We are not particularly interested in them so just taking in the towns.

We part company with Ray and Bev from here. We will be heading toward Charters Towers and they are heading to Richmond and eventually to Normanton. We have been together since February and have some great memories. They are from south of the river......maybe we can be friends lol. We will keep in touch.
