Travelling on the inland roads leads us to lots of unexpected waterways that are just perfect for camping. After Texas we drove to Cunningham Weir which was nice but campers had left lots of rubbish and the flies were bad so we left and moved on to another weir, Whetstone Weir, 14kms from Inglewood. What a gorgeous place, we had a great time here, still travelling with friends we met a couple of stops back. We were able to stand under the weir and have the water pour over us.....so welcoming after the very hot days we have been experiencing. Ray and Bev had a pool noodle with a seat in it and we put Sandi in it and boy she was in her element.......she loved it. Whetstone has hundreds and hundreds of water lillies, purple ones, and it looks beautiful and then it falls over the weir - hard to understand how water lillies can be in such calm water then have a rushing torent on the other side! See photos for this incredible place.
