Still in the outback, we stopped at Winton who's claim to fame is the birthplace of Waltzing Matilda which Banjo Paterson wrote in the pub many moons ago. When looking at the photos, check out the one on the top of the Opal factory.....hahaha they have a sense of humour in the outback. Uncle Nev tickled my fancy as Al's brother is Nev.....had to take a pic of him in the museum, kinda reminds me of someone but I cant think who! The last photo made me laugh too.....funny signs you see out here lol. The photo of the whirly wind was because a couple of months prior the area was in flood! Qld is either in flood or drought, it is tough out here for them.
The museum is great and I spent a couple of hours enjoying the history and outback memorabilia. We stopped here for lunch and had a swim in the pool but then travelled on to a small overnight area in the middle of nowhere called Corfield. Not even a town there, just a pub and one house.
