We only stayed in Townsville to have repairs done on the Caravan wheels and tyres. We have been to Townsville before and decided it is a big place and too busy for us so we moved on to a couple of night stop overs. The first one was about 29km from Townsville at Bluewater camp ground, It was ok for a couple of nights as it was off the road and had defined sites with toilets and grassy areas. The next one was at Bushy Parker Park camp ground at Rollingstone and this one was a beauty. Nice area tucked away near the river, lots of trees and water available to the van. The river was crystal clear and the trees that usually are in the river had their roots exposed with the water down to a minimum. We could see the river bed rocks so clearly. These free camp areas are great.
