Restful day today. Visited a heap of monuments & relics relating to Cook, Palmer Goldfields & early town development. Washed the car! Got tired of getting red crap over me whenever I touched any part of the car. It was soooo filthy! Purchased 1.5 kilos of large, ready to eat prawns once they thaw! That'll keep me going for a while. Last night was a touch cooler enabling a good sleep - it also caused the stone chip in my windscreen to turn into a crack! On the road again early & were in Laura by 10am. Got an early start for our drive to Mungkan Kandju NP & arrived around 11am. Sadly, the NP was closed due to flood damage so we had no choice other than to continue south. The road from Musgrave to Lakefield NP is also closed so our options are limited. Our camp on the Morehead River is even better than the camp we had on the way up.
