Refilled the gas bottles, packed ip & was on the road by 8.30! Target was somewhere short of Mackay. Had breakfast in Ayr (strange place lots of shops but few cafes) & coffee in Proserpine. Had an in-depth discussion on the youth of today with a woman whose table I shared. Decided to camp either in the Cathu State Forest or Boulder Creek. Located the latter by mistake & made a good decision to stay there. Only 2 other caravans to put up with as they are both using generators. Grrrr! One of them has a dog which has adopted me.

Cool night so a fire was Ideal. Only 40km or so from Mackay.

Lowlight was the definite drop in evening temps.
