Last night was a touch cooler enabling a good sleep - it also caused the stone chip in my windscreen to turn into a crack!
On the road again early & were in Laura by 10am. After refueling I joined the others at the Old Laura Homestead & we continued on to Cooktown crossing the Battle Camp Range.
Our intrepid Convoy Leader stopped after fording Isabella Creek to point out the nearby Falls which otherwise would have been missed.
From there only a short drive to Cooktown & a revisit to 'Mad Mary' who raised her prices in the 2 weeks we were away!
Be here for 2 nights before heading south on the Bloomfield Track. The convoy splits up after Cooktown so I need to record my thanks for the company, advice & plain good fun had during the past 2 weeks.
Highlight is the satisfaction of having achieved the objective of getting to the Tip & checking out everything in between.
