At about 8.30 me & my backpack headed off to tackle some of the available walks. All walks were open including Cathedral Cave. Here I am at Carnarvon Gorge. Arrived early afternoon after a quick start to the day. It came as a surprise to learn that there is no camping inside the NP so I retracked back to the Takarakka Bush Resort which is just outside the NP. TBR is a good facility located next to a magical place. Love my campsite which is just above (but not in) the Carnarvon Creek which I can hear babbling (when a loud woman in a caravan a little way over would shut up). Apostle birds ...

Another good night's sleep (becoming the norm) & an early getaway! Had lunch at Charleville & then headed east on Warrego Highway to Roma.  It's like open season on roos & wallabies on Qld roads - carcases litter the roadside every few metres. Easy day today. Left Bourke later to let the tent dry out after the very heavy rain last night. Had lunch at Cunnamulla in Qld. It is a pleasant town which shuts down during lunch hour! Fuel was a concern as I forgot to fill up at Bourke - but made it to Cunnamulla! Continued on to Wyandra & took advantage of a free camp area in the town.
