This was a difficult day to be sure! Day started badly with me taking a very long time to pack up & hit the road. The others were saying 'no worries' but standing around waiting ever so impatiently.
Finally we left Loyalty Beach after a most enjoyable stay & headed to Vrilya Beach on the west side of the Cape. Crossing a log bridge was exciting but Vrilya Beach less so! Very hot with almost no shade made camping a bad choice & it was decided to get out of there & go to Captain Billy's Landing.
Problem was I had ventured too far onto the soft sand & got stuck. Finally got onto the beach (firm packed sand), let tyres down & made a successful charge at the bank to escape. At least I didn't have to be snatched like a Nissan in our group!
Arrived at CBL after a pleasant drive through mostly rainforest area. CBL is an open area without shade & a permanent strong wind making life rather difficult. We'd had enough driving so we set up camp hoping it wouldn't blow away.
A couple of problems with the camper needed attention - hose from water tank had split & a bolt on the stove has gone missing. S had some magic tape which effected a temp fix on the hose. Stove can wait until Weipa to replace the bolt.
Highlight was crossing the log bridge.
