First things first - Very sorry I haven't been online, I haven't been very well so haven't had the opportunity to come into town.
I hadn't been feeling very well all week, very up and down, not myself at all and then on Wednesday I saw dark blood on my feaces. So I was straight to the doctors.
Dr Stockley said it might me a Paracite in my Intestine and gave me some tablets to take. He said they were going to make me sick so said if it would be possible to stay in Kampala? We live 30/40 mins from town, so I decided to go home instead. They didn't affect me as bad as I thought they would. Jane said it's because I'm a strong girl, so I didn't let them make me weak. Bless :)
So I didn't go to school but just stayed in bed for the rest of the week and over the weekend. We were supposed to be going to teh boys project in Lugazi but I really couldn't face anything. I told Vic to go as I wasn't good company and plus I wasn't vomiting or anything so was just going to spend time in bed.
Friday night I was drinking tea and Madam Jane came in and asked if I had eaten. I said I hadn't so she wanted me to eat some rice. I started to do the fire and when she came back she insisted I didn't, I was unwell etc. I just collapsed in the chair exhausted. I've always been like that, finding it difficult to ask for help. Yes I know it's silly but even just this week it has really made me realise that it's okay and I can ask!
There was one afternoon I really wanted to sleep and just couldn't settle down in bed, I then just burst into tears, sat on my bed crying. I then didn't have the energy to cry and thought I was going to be sick. I went to Jane's and asked if she could please get me some charcoal. Next thing, she's in the house making my fire, making me tea and her niece Harriet, was making me lunch. It did upset me but only how amazing there were, just looking after me, all this care and love.
Monday Dr Stockley gave me some Yeast tablets, as he said that's what is probably bringing me down and then that leads us to today...
I went back to Dr Stockley today, feeling so much better in myself. He still was unsure, as a Paracite usually causes an Ulcer and he didn't see one before, Chrons Disease causes blood all the time and I only haven't it every other time I go to toilet and it's not Cancer because I'm too young. So he still isn't too sure. But because I'm feeling better he didn't mind letting me go, I'm just to go back if I see blood again!
Vic went for Sound of Music auditions last week and she got Mother Abbess! How brilliant is that :) She has 3 solos and some of them are in Latin too. I'm very excited about going, I'm going to take Madam Jane so she can watch too :)
So next week we are starting our new food plan, a little bit of variation in our diets:
Monday: Ugandan Pasta - Pasta, fried toms, onion and garlic
Tuesday: Chabonga - Chinese style rice, peppers, onions, toms and garlic
Wednesday: English Pasta - Pasta and Sauce
Thursday: Vegetable - Sweet Pot, Potatoes, Matoke, Cabbage etc
Friday: Rice - Rice, fried toms, onions, garlic and carrots
Saturday: Take Away
Sunday: Naughty Night - Basically not real food, just snacking all day ;)
Vic and Shaun went to Rwanda today, they had to renew their visas. I think I'm going to head in a few weeks when I'm feeling better, as mine doesn't run out until April which is good.
On the Visa front. So we only have Visas that are 3 months long, so we have to exit the country and re-new. It is such a hassle and expensive too!
Looking foward to going to Sanyu next week. Not up for it tomorrow. I'm better but it will be nice to spend one day settling back into chores etc as I've just been stuck in bed.
Monday we have the day off school. It's a public holiday, Womens Day. Vic and me are heading into Kampala and treating ourselves, maybe the cinema, pizza YAY :)
I just wanted to say thank you for all your love, support and kindness towards me, I have really appreciated this week especially!! :)
All my love x x x x
