Just got back from Sanyu. Not sure what was up with the children today, they were very noisy! There is one boy called Stuart. He just follows us everywhere, giggling away.We call him Stuart Little and bless him he puts his arms out for hugs, calling "Mumma Mumma" :)
Joyce is still in hospital and Joshua came back from the doctors HIV positive..
We've been eating eating Posho and Beans with our hands again this week. Only because we've been forgetting to take our forks into school. Although we enjoy the Ugandan way, it seems to taste better :)
So along with speaking Lugandan, we've also been picking up common English words that Ugandans say..
Instead of, my leg is HURTING me, we now say, my leg is PAINING me :)
Also, I'd usually say I THINK we should go here, it's now I PROPOSE we go here :)
Whenever you return from somewhere you will always hear WELCOME BACK and WELL DONE. Well done is commonly used if your sweeping, clothes washing etc. It's not used in a patronising way but kind of said instead of hello :)
Also when talking about children, especially if they'remis-behavin. It's not because they're rude or nuaghty but STUBBORN. It's always stubborn :)
Vic and me are currently looking into our travels over Christmas and are currently debating bungee jumping! I'm pretty scared for some starnge (possible stupid) reason a part of me want to do it! Argh, I'll let you know the verdict soon.
Insects have been cheeky this week. I've been bitten on my bum and knuckle - Very hard place to itch, well atleast to a satisifed extent ;)
Last week there was some building going on at school, a trench was being put in place by the school gate due to the fast flow of rain coming down the hill. I was leaving the gate to go buy a donut* for break and one of the builders called Jack just got chatting to me about the tree he'd just cut down. Anyway, the next day he left a letter in the staff room saying I was kind, a great person and left his mobile phone number. I never text and on Sunday Jack actually turned up at our compound!
Godfrey (11 year pupil from school) was over and we were all playing cards. When Jack left he asked if he could give Godfrey money to get us some donuts. Of course we said yes, due to our love for them! Godfrey took ages, concideringhe was onlky getting 2 donuts! Well we were slightly wrong.. Godfrey came backexhaused, with 2 huge carrier bags.. 2 pinapples, 2 apples, 4 mangos, 6 oranges, 1 bananas, 7 carrots and 13 donuts! We were just in shock, he had spent loads! I have told Jack that nothing could happen between us but bless him he is trying to win my heart over ;)
Watched Man Utd vs Liverpool on Sunday. We were crammed into a shack with a load of smelly Ugandan men and it was so much fun! The atmosphere was great and the man next to me kepy squeezing my leg in excitement erm.. :)
We're going back soon to watch Uganda vs Rwanda and many other games :)
2 months next week, wow :)
Sorry don't think my photos are going to load this week..
Lots of Love from the red head in Bulenga x x x
