Feeling very happy after Sanyu! Such a good, loving atmosphere :) The children were make to normal, not sure why they were so wingy last week :)
A girl was brought in yesterday by a police officer. They think she's around 7 months old. I was just trying to make her feel comfortable, as she just kept crying. She must under at that age the change in people and environment :(
Joyce is still in hospital but she's being adopted and her new American parents are coming within the next few weeks and are hoping to have her in America by December. She'll get excellent care and hopefully get better soon!
Also the little 2 week old that came in on our first week has been named Humphrey :)
Went into Kampala on my own and it was actually fine, phew! :)
I was looking for Owino Market, as I wanted to buy an apron, anyway a man came up to up to me introducing himself. I was like 'her we go because I'm on my mine' but actually he then said, you look lost please may I help and he pointed me in the right direction :) People here are very helpful and friendly, it's great as I was worried before I left they'd take advantage due to us being white in their country.
Vic was very sick Tuesday night. Not sure what it was from. We were outside in the compound when we heard Madam Janes ringtone going off, next thing at the same time her and Madam Halimah came out of their homes to see us. It was so sweet :) Madam Halimah had heard us, so rang M.J :) Bless our African Mumma and Aunty x
I bought her medicine (a big donut!) Wednesday morning and she's now feeling alot better :)
It was the P7 leaving party on Wednesday. P7 is the last year in Primary School, so they're aged around 13-14 years.
It was all of the P7 and pupils from other years that had been invited and they all turned up in the best clothes :)
We had cow, rice and potatoes, followed by a dance in the P2 classroom. You just wouldn't believe the children were so young. They act so mature!
Rose was trying to teach us the African bum dance, no hope! :) The party was supposed to finish at 9 but bless the electricity cut at 8. I couldn't imagine if at my ball the electricity cut out on us. We all had so much fun though :)
So Vic and me decided that we wanted to experience Uganda even more than we have been..
Saturday we went to a taxi park restuarant! We went in, pretty scared as the lights flicked on and off and ordered some juice. Next thing the lady came out with hot milk! Apart from this confusion, although it was very funny, it was a great little place and the chapatis were great :) We then ordered a fruit salad, which was so tasty. It contained Jackfruit, mango, sugar cane and delicious carrots :)
Went to a football match on Friday, in Kampala stadium. The game was pretty boring, ending 0-0 but we enjoyed it and there was great music from the Firemaster supporters on their drums and horns :)
We've been trying more foods this week, well only Sweet Potato but still it's one more dish to add to the menu :)
Keish from Project Trust is coming in 2 weeks. Check up on us, although she'll find no problems in Bulenga ;)
The Supremes were on the radio yesterday! I love them :) They play so much cheesy stuff on 'Vision Radio' but we love it! Singing away to Shaggy and Anastacia yesterday whilst washing our clothes :)
Mr Omen likes to play it very loud which is fine in the day but 6am, Phil Collins and UB40 isn't very much liked! :)
Just wanted to say it's been fantastic reading my message board and receiving letters from the UK! It's not just all about me and I've really enjoyed hearing what you've all been up to, thanks :) x
Lots of Love from one happy girl x x x x
