Glenda's arm around my bum, as she's too short to reach my waist and my arm over her shoulder, humming some made up tune whilst walking up to the classroom. They really are great children, yes stubborn at times but I forget that they are young, still only children. I forget because how many 6 year olds do you know who can speak 2 languages, can tell you times tables, all stuff like that.
I've had a good week at school. Madam Eliza started on Monday, she seems good, which I was very happy about as she's just left teaching college. I'm sharing a class again now and take Reading, Writing, Art, Music and PE. It's been good and although I only spent one week as class teacher, you can really tell that I made a connection with the children and they understand when enough is enough or when they can give me a poke (they like to poke me in the ribs, thinking it'll tickle!) :)
Didn't have Netball training on Wednesday, as they children were tidying the compound and didn't finish off until nearly 6pm. But we'll be starting next week :)
Madam Alice had a baby boy on Monday. We went to go visit her on Friday, he's tiny! They've named him Yovin. It was crazy going into the ward. There were 10-12 beds in each room. The mother and baby sharing the bed and family bringing in food, I've never seen anything like it.
Alice and Yovin are doing well. She's not returning back to school, so they're looking for a new P4 teacher now.
I asked Harriet (Janes niece) when her birthday was and she said she didn't know. She rang her mum, who also didn't know. It's really quite sad! Anyway on Tuesday she came into our house and said she'd spoke to Jane and wanted to know if she could take my birthday. It as so sweet, I'll never forget her birthday now! :)
We didn't go to Sanyu today. We were up at 7:00am and it was rainning like no tomorrow! The rain didn't ease of for hours and by the time it was 12 there wasn't any point as I had the doctors at 1 (don't worry was only for a check-up)
It was such a shame, I'm always looking foward to going!
We're meant to be out of the rainy season now, not that you can tell!
Hello Global Warming maybe?? :)
Not much has happened this week.
The beginning of the week I'm not sure why but I was feeling up and down but by the end of this week, I've been feeling much better, smiley again :)
All my love from Uganda x x x
