Eaton Family's Aussie Adventure
The national parks keep getting better and better - Lawn Hill (now known by its aboriginal name of Boodjamulla) is simply magnificent. It is again a remnant from 20 mllion years ago and is spring fed today and the creek in the main gorge section is incredibly deep. The views are amazing - deep green opaque water, with vibrant red cliffs and the bluest of blue skies - it would be an artists dream (if only I could paint). In fact it did inspire Stephen to do a beautiful drawing of the family here using the materials the Maggs family gave him - it is one that will be treasured forever. We hired canoes and paddled up the gorge and took lilos to swim with also. The water was about 25 degrees and fresh and clean - it was lovely swimming. There are a few fresh water crocodiles, but we found them very hard to find - despite trying!! The walks are lovely as you can imagine and in 4 days we took 170 photos, so I was very restrained in only putting 20 or so on the website. It is absolutely worth the 150km of dirt to get in and should be on your must see list if you go around Australia.
