Saturday
After a long sleep in and slow morning we head into town again. There is no Sunday trading allowed for Coles and Woolworths (this is to support the smaller traders) so we do our grocery shopping this morning. Seems as though everyone shops on Saturday - Coles is busier than home at Christmas. We also stock up on beer and moscato and then fill 2 of the Gerry cans before heading back to the park.
I spend some time on our budget and we enjoy another lunch of cheese, cabannosi and biscuits. Once we're ready to go out I call for the courtesy bus which arrives before we have time to make it to the entrance of the park. The driver tells us to put the seat belts on as "we'll need them" and he wasn't wrong. He only had two speeds - stop and flat out.
When we arrive at the club I notice a sign at the entrance to the dining room advertising the entertainment for the night - heat one of the Miss V8 Supercars grid girls. You should've seen the grin spread across Martin's face when I pointed it out to him. We checked into Facebook and a few friends asked for photos.
We went to the bar and the Bledisloe Cup was on with what appeared to be a room full of Kiwis. We watched for a while and then went in for dinner. Martin had a pizza and I ordered a chicken schnitzel with baked veggies. Both meals were huge and delicious and neither if us could finish them.
We went back to the bar and waited for the show. The girls had arrived and were being shown the set up (there were 5 of them). One in particular kept coming out and walking the stage, flouncing around practicing her 'moves'. It became quite comical because she would have come out at least 20 times in the hour before the show started. I was sure she was going to throw her hip out at one stage. Martin even had a chuckle at her antics.
We were all ready to take photos but the sound and lighting were so poor that we couldn't hear or see anything much at all. They had a costume change (from bikini to shorts and crop tops) which seemed to take forever. We took a few more photos and then decided to leave. Another trip in the courtesy bus this one a little less hair raising before sleep for me and a movie for Martin.
