We pack up and leave Canal Creek heading south to Bramwell Station. Martin puts the bra on the car for the creek crossing and this time it even comes up over the bra. Lucky it has a rocky bottom so there are no issues and we are straight through.
An uneventful trip down the development road to Bramwell Junction where we stayed last Saturday. Martin fuelled up and we all had an ice cream before heading down the road about 10km to Bramwell Station. We've just realised too that we left Loyalty Beach a day earlier than planned so we'll need to add another night in somewhere before our booking at Old Laura.
This is a working property that has relatively recently opened it's doors to campers. We book in for 2 nights and are pleased to see they have meals and entertainment every night. Happy hour starts at 5.30pm where drinks are cheaper and then the he meals are at 6.30.
After setting up either side of one off the many large shelters we each have a much needed shower and wait for 5.30. We watch other campers arrive and set up amazed at the different types of set-ups we see.
We head to the bar and check out the merchandise tent. A bell rings at 5.30 to herald the happy hour and everyone drifts over. Ken starts a brief talk on the history of the station which is very interesting. They have just started having a race day each year in July and are really focusing on tourism.
Dinner was delicious - a baked dinner with bread and butter pudding and ice cream. The entertainment was Terry Doyle who sang and played guitar - older sing-a-long type songs. Towards the end of the night Jenny, a lady from the crowd got up and she was really good as well.
