All up early again today and drove back down the beach to visit Lake Wabby. we parked on the beach and had to walk half an hour through the forest to get to lake wabby. THis lake is much smaller than Lake Mckenzie and there was a big sanddune one side of the lake. swam in this lake and swam across to the other side. WE spent a few hours here swimming and sunbathing as we didnt have to be back at the barge til 3.30pm. After lunch here we drove back down the beach and then across the island to the otherside to the barge. the guy driving was a bit more confident so didnt take aslong this time. at the petrol station here we hand to pump our tyres up again and catch the 3.30 barge back to Hervey Bay. Once at Hervey bay we headed straight to the campshed to unload all our equipment and get the guy to check if our 4wd were all in one piece to get our $1000 bond back. THen headed to our hostel to get our money back. Everyone was in a desperate need of a shower. OUr family as we were now called had a few drinks that night that we hadnt drunk at FI. I was lucky to have a really good group and was really nice not to do a guided tour. We were able to do what we wanted when and we were able to be more independent.
