Have been in Surfers Paradise for a few days now and will leave tomorrow. Surfers Paradise is in the heart of the Gold Coast. The town surivies purely on tourism. The town is made up of souvenir shops, information places and bars!! There are loads of skyscrapers over looking the beach and lots of surfers. After leaving Hervey bay on saturday we arrived in Noosa yesturday afternoon. It is a very classy area on the Sunshine coast and amongst the backpackers are wealthy australians on holiday and some very nice houses. All up early again today and drove back down the beach to visit Lake Wabby. we parked on the beach and had to walk half an hour through the forest to get to lake wabby. THis lake is much smaller than Lake Mckenzie and there was a big sanddune one side of the lake. swam in this lake and swam across to the other side. All survived the night and hadnt been flooded. we were all up early so we had plenty of time to drive on the beach and see everything that we wanted.
