Between Saturday and Wednesday TO has come to visit from England. I spent many minutes making sure I had enough provisions to accommodate him (pasta, cheese, crisps) and to create a welcoming atmosphere in my room (created an AWESOME fruit bowl). He told me his flight was getting in at 9h30, so I set my alarm for 9h, giving me enough time to get dressed and meet him off the bus in the centre. Or not. I texted him just after I woke up to tell him to text me when he was on the bus, only to be told that he was already on the bus, a 15 minute ride. After half an hour of waiting, I finally arrived bearing pain au chocolats.
We then had lunch at home and then wandered round town for a few hours, taking in the sights and smells of the south of France. Later that evening we went to what is becoming one of my regular haunts for steak (him) and chunky fish soup (me) and a MASSIVE chocolate mousse.
Sunday we decided to go to the zoo, a 5 minute walk from my flat with a picnic. It's also free to get into, the only part you have to pay for is an 'Amazonian Experience' which we didn't see. It was a beautiful day and it's really more of a huge park with animals every few hundred meters. The best part was seeing a huge Syrian brown bear lying on it's back in a pond eating only a few meters away. In the evening TO had his first taste of kitchen life and we just watched a couple of films. The only downside is that I have an 8h15 lecture tomorrow morning for 3 hours. YAY.
