OK, so i'm going to slightly alter my initial impression of the kitchen. Yes it still has no bin, no microwave, no oven, no grill and no cupboards, but for the past two days I have found PEOPLE. Yesterday it was an American boy called Julien and today a Greek boy called Anthony? Antoine? A... Anyway, for the first time since I've been here I've had a proper conversation in the kitchen and I'm very grateful. It was pretty depressing the first time I cooked when there was nobody there and I had no idea how to work the hobs. But now it feels a bit more like uni where the kitchen is the social hub.
Unfortunately for me, Julien is now moving to a different building which has a bigger fridge and a freezer! Veritable luxury where I am. He told me I should complain too but I really can't be bothered to move all my stuff around now. Besides, smaller fridge means less food, so I won't be able to by loads of crap.
Also had my first proper day of lectures today. What a snoozefest. 1 hour of Greco-Latin culture followed by 3 hours of introduction to geography. Apart from the fact I could only understand about 50% of what was being said, there are no slides, powerpoints or diagrams to look at; only the teacher standing in front of you, talking solidly. Can't wait for tomorrow and my 8:15am translation class.
