Caught 9am Eurostar Italia train from Florence arriving in Rome at 10.30am. We walked the ten minutes to our hotel, Starhotel Metropole. Our room was ready so we dropped off our bags and went to reception to book our day trip to Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento for Wednesday which cost €192 for the two of us.

Decided to go to the tourist information centre at the train station but after arriving at the train station we found that was no tourist information there! We went in search of another tourist information centre near the EasyInternet to get a city map and information on the underground rail system. Found tourist information and got what we needed.

Looked for the EasyInternet cafe unsuccessfully as we took a wrong turn. Decided to look for the Crypt of the Cappuccini Monks which was recommended by our travel agent, again without any success but we did stumble upon the EasyInternet cafe. Emailed home and checked up on all the news from home.

Walked back to the hotel via Basilica Santa Maria and Piazza della Repubblica and a supermarket at the train station for some supplies. Rested at the hotel then went in search of dinner at 5.30pm, ate at a pizzeria in via Nazionale which was reasonably priced and the food was good. Had a coffee at the hotel before going to bed.
