Up at 7am and after breakfast walked down to the train station to catch the 8.33am train to Pisa. Arrived in Pisa and walked to the nearby Tourist Information Centre for a town map and some directions to the leaning tower.

Walked 10 minutes through the town of Pisa, passing the Scuole Normale Superiore, arriving at the tourist packed tower area. Took some pictures of the Leaning Tower and the nearby Duomo.

Went to buy a ticket to go to the top of the tower and after getting over the initial shock of the €15 each price we decided we'd do it. Then they told us we had to wait an hour for the next tour went to the top of the tower. We decided to give it a miss as we had places to go and things to see.

Walked back to the train station and caught a packed train back to Florence. After the inspector came through 1st class we realised most of the people taking of the seats were not carrying 1st class tickets, in particular one woman who had 5 big bags clogging the aisle and was very reluctant to move and let someone sit in the vacanseat next to her. We arrived back in Florence in time for lunch,
