After breakfast we left our Waterford B&B and drove down the road to the Waterford Crystal Factory. Had a look at the crystal products on display which were very nice but also very expensive. We bought a small vase and then were on our way.
Drove out through the city of Waterford past the city walls and then on to Kilkenny. Visited Kilkenny Castle and took the guided tour through the castle which lasted about 40 minutes. Castle was remodelled into a mansion in the 19th century and had many well decorated rooms. Walked into the town looking for lunch.
As it was Sunday there was hardly anything open so we ended up at Supermacs. We walked further down to St.Mary's Cathedral which ,we were told during our tour of Kilkenny Castle, would give us some good views from the top of the tower. We couldn't find any access to the tower so took some pictures of the cathedral and then drove on towards Dublin.
Stopped in Carlow for a coffee at Roadside Cafe. Crap coffee and equally crap service. The choice of coffee was black or white..white was some milk heated in the microwave and then some
instant coffee added. We got a dirty mug and had to get it replaced much to the amusement of the waitress.
Drove on around the M50 ring road to Santry and our B&B near the airport, Alpine House. Checked in and rested watching the Gaelic football on TV in Irishlanguage! We then walked over the road to the shopping centre for some dinner. Returned to our room and packed our bags and rested ready for our flight to Paris the next morning.
