Our flight arrived at Dublin Airport at 12.30pm and we went to the Hertz Car Rental desk after easily passing through customs. Caught shuttle bus out to Hertz office at the airport and after waiting in a long queue we finally got our car, a Volvo stationwagon after we had to be upgraded as they didn't have the car we were supposed to have! All the cars were dented and scratched so after our bad luck in England we made sure every dent and scratch was recorded. We didn't get a map of Dublin included just a very basic map of Ireland. They told us we could get a Dublin map at the service station on the way out of the airport...they didn't have any.

Drove into Dublin and quickly got lost. Stopped and asked for directions before finding our way onto O'Connell Street and eventually our hotel in Upper O'Connell Street, Cassidy's. We got a carpark in their overflow car park and checked in.

After dropping off our bags weheaded down to the Tourist Information office for some maps and any information on tours of Dublin. We then went to an internet cafe to read and send some emails before walking down to O'Connell Bridge and dinner at McDonalds. Walked back to hotel for a
rest and some TV.
