Travelled 3.5 hours from Geneva to Basel before changing trains and catching the ICE to Hannover. The trip took 5 hours and we reached speeds of 250 km/h in some parts.

Changed trains in Hannover and caught the train to Berlin Zoo Garden station which took 2 hours. Overall we spent 10.5 hours on the trains today. We arrived in Berlin at 6.15pm. The weather was quite cold and we had to walk to our hotel which took about 5 minutes but the walk warmed us up.

We checked into our hotel, Alsterhof, and then headed out in search of dinner. Food was so much cheaper than in Geneva so it was easy finding somewhere to eat. We ate at a pizza cafe called Karavan which had good food at good prices. Had a coffee and donut at Dunkin Donuts and then walked back to our hotel to plan the next days sightseeing.
