Before we left Pushkar we had a bit of an incident. Ellie was squeezing a wet one out and and I was just moping around or room. I could've sworn I saw something run past our balcony, but i thought it was a cat or something, so I didn't pay much attention. I then felt as if something was staring at me, so as I turned around I nearly had the squirts too. Two grown monkeys were in our room, one was cuddling the wall and the other was looking around. I grabbed something and shouted and pretended to chuck something at them. The first retreated but the second started getting aggresive. I had no choice, I ran into the bathroom where Ellie was and slammed the door shut. I was thinking would they ever leave and if they did would they take our valuables? I starting shouting "HELP MONKEYS" and the owner ran upstairs and starting shouting and banging on our door, but the door was locked. I crept out and opened the door and noticed all our toiletries were all over the floor. The owner managed to usher the monkeys out. I ran out onto the balcony with him and noticed one of the monkeys had one of our condoms in its mouth, it was trying to open and eat it. Now if this monkey farts after he's eaten it he'd be like Richard Branson in his hot air balloon- any bets on its final destination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
We decided to go on a private bus to Jodphur, we have been travelling on government buses other times and they have been quite good. When we got on the bus and saw a goat on the back seat having his breakfast we knew we were in for an interesting journey! The bus picked up anyone on the way and kept stopping every hour for a break, When we stopped loads of cheeky boys got on the bus selling things and they always made a beeline for us! They were a tiny bit annoying!
We eventually got to Jodphur 6 hours later with a sore bum. We checked into Govind Hotel and our room was a bit like the one we had in Delhi - very small and no daylight but the owner was so friendly and helpful it made it nice!
On the wednesday we went up to Meherangarh Fort which overlooks all of Jodphur. We got a little headphone set and had an audio tour which was really interesting and we both felt very cultured after! The best thing about the fort was the views over the city. Jodhpurs buildings are all painted blue because it used to mark the home of a Brahmin (and it repels insects). We could have stayed there all day just staring at the city below, it was so spectacular!
We have a little tv in our room and cocktails on tonight...yerrrr
Next stop Udaipur!
